Ötzi’s dagger

Ötzi’s dagger

Ötzi’s equipment was very clever. His weapons included an axe with a copper blade, a bow, arrows and a small dagger with a flint blade. Flint was also the stone used for making arrowheads.

Ötzi’s dagger

The dagger was attached to Ötzi’s belt so that it was always at the ready. Ötzi kept it in a sheath made of lime-tree fibres. Ötzi needed the dagger for various things. He could use it to defend himself, cut off a piece of string or make an object that would be useful to him during his expeditions on foot.
