Backpack

This unique U-shaped object was found next to Ötzi’s bow and axe. Archaeologists believe it was a backpack. Even today, people in the Alps carry heavy things on their shoulders with packs like this:

Some pieces of fur and hair tufts were also found near the backpack. Did Ötzi have a fur sack attached to the U-shaped frame? Had he made a type of backpack?

Only fragments of many of the objects were found. It’s not always easy to tell what they were! Sarah found a lot of explanations for the objects in her story. Which ones do you think are right?
