Excavations

When Ötzi’s body was pulled out of the ice, no one had any idea that he was a prehistoric man. However, the objects lying around him quickly established that he wasn’t a man of our times: A flint dagger, arrows, a copper-bladed axe …

Archaeologists who were brought in quickly realized the significance of the find. It was important to recover all the objects that had belonged to Ötzi. The archaeologists had to dig in ice, not soil, for a change! And they found very efficient ways of doing this.

But what was a Stone Age man doing 3000 metres up a mountain? The longer the archaeologists dug, the more questions were raised!
